Vargo Hoat - ASOIAF
I designed this character costume for Alexandria Neonakis course on Schoolism.
I've loved the A song of Ice and Fire books since I read them, specially because of how they are way more eccentric and fantastical than the Game of Thrones show.
One of these characters that, would clash with the show's more reality-bound setting is the depraved Vargo Hoat, the leader of the Brave Companions.
He is a bloody mercenary leader from Qohor, which works first for the Lannisters, and then for the Boltons when he saw monetary gain in it.
These three costume designs for Vargo hoat depict him looking at a mutilated hand: his favorite.
I used reference moodboards, as well as preliminary hand-drawn sketches to test out initial ideas.
The A song of Ice and Fire books reference Vargo Hoat's coin necklace heavily, so I drew some coins he may have made it with.
